4D Special Draw Dates 2026: Full Tuesday Calendar for Malaysia
Malaysia's classic 4D operators normally draw three nights a week — Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. But a few times a year the calendar gains an extra night: the gazetted special draw, always on a Tuesday. In 2026 there are eight special draw dates. Here is the full calendar, plus what actually happens on those nights.
What Is a 4D Special Draw?
A special draw is an additional draw day approved by the Ministry of Finance on top of the operators' normal schedule. The format is a completely normal draw — the same machines, the same 23-number result sheet, the same prize structure — just held on a Tuesday. Special draws were introduced in the late 1990s as a revenue measure, and each approved date applies industry-wide rather than to a single operator.
4D Special Draw Dates in 2026

| 1 | 27 January 2026 | Tuesday | Pre-CNY |
| 2 | 10 February 2026 | Tuesday | Chinese New Year |
| 3 | 17 February 2026 | Tuesday | Chinese New Year |

| 8 | 29 December 2026 | Tuesday | Year-end |
As this article is published, three dates remain in 2026: 1 September, 27 October and 29 December. Dates come from operator announcements following the government gazette and are occasionally adjusted — treat the calendar as a planning guide and confirm with your outlet before a specific Tuesday.
Which Operators Take Part?
Special draw approvals cover the peninsula's classic trio — Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai — and East Malaysia's operators, including Sabah 88 and Cash Sweep, have historically joined the same gazetted Tuesdays. In practice, a special draw Tuesday looks like a full weekend draw night: every participating operator publishes a complete result at 7:00 PM MYT.
The daily operators — GD Lotto, 9 Lotto, Lucky Hari Hari, Perdana — are unaffected for the simplest reason: they already draw every night, Tuesdays included. (More on that family in our daily draws comparison.)
Why Only Eight Per Year?
Special draws date back to 1999, when the government first approved extra draws as a fund-raising measure. For years operators ran as many as 22 special draws annually; from 2020 the government cut the cap sharply — the current allowance is eight per year — citing social concerns alongside fiscal ones. Each special draw carries additional duties payable to the government, which is why the dates are literally gazetted: they are a revenue instrument as much as a gaming event.
How the Dates Are Chosen
Look down the 2026 list and the pattern is obvious: the calendar leans toward festive, high-traffic periods. Two dates bracket Chinese New Year — the season when 4D play peaks and auspicious numbers sell out fastest — one lands in Merdeka week, and one closes the year in the holiday lull. That is deliberate: special draws exist to raise revenue, so they are placed where the demand already is, with mid-year dates filling the gap so the eight approvals spread across the calendar.
Demand Is Different on Special Tuesdays
Because special draws cluster around festivals, they inherit festival behaviour. Popular combinations — repeated digits, the festival's own date, famous vehicle plates — hit operator purchase caps earlier than on an ordinary Wednesday, so a first-choice number is more likely to be refused as sold out. If a number matters to you, buy days ahead rather than hours. The crowd cuts the other way after the draw, too: result pages are busiest on special Tuesdays, which is exactly when a single bookmarked view beats hopping between three operator websites.
Playing and Checking on a Special Draw Night
- Same time: the draw closes at 7:00 PM MYT, exactly like a normal night.
- Buy early: counters get busy on special Tuesdays, especially the CNY-season ones — don't leave it until 6:55 PM.
- Check the draw number: your ticket carries the Tuesday date and its own draw number in the operator's sequence. Match both when verifying, not just the digits.
- Same prizes: payouts are identical to any other draw — a special draw changes the calendar, not the odds or the prize table.
- Results land in the usual places: our live results page updates within minutes, and the draw files under its date in the past results archive like any other evening.
- East Malaysia included: the Sabah 88 and Cash Sweep sheets for the Tuesday publish in their own section of the homepage, so one reload covers the whole country.
Key Takeaways
- 2026 has eight gazetted special draws, all Tuesdays, clustered around festive periods.
- They apply to the classic operators (and East Malaysian draws) — daily operators draw nightly regardless.
- Format, prizes and draw time are identical to normal draws.
- Unchecked special-draw tickets are the easiest to forget — and prizes expire six months after the draw date.
Special draw tonight? The numbers will be on the live 4D results page minutes after 7:00 PM — and if you're holding a ticket from an earlier Tuesday, look it up in the archive before it expires.
